Today was a first...Virginian Pilot - Daily Break box

Today we had the good pleasure to come across another family stamping into the same box--the Virginian Pilot - Daily Break Box.   Met Seadog & the Magnet triplets, got to exchange stamps and see each other's books and visit a beautiful part of Virginia Beach I never knew existed...but of course I've only lived in the area a mere 30 years...what fun, man I love this sport!

Never occurred to us we might meet other letterboxers while hunting !  Is it customary to exchange stamps with each other if you meet at a box?

Found the Hartwood Acres box, near Pittsburgh on Sunday.  Our FIRST letterbox.  Sorry to see there's very few in our home area but we're definitely thinking about placing a box or two and hope that more will spring up !

I read the online newspapers of several cities and it was the Pilot's article that got us interested.

Hi Lynn,

Yes, if you meet a fellow letterboxer it's great to be
able to exchange stamps...it's an extra nice added
surprise. Sometimes, though, you meet them on the
trail and don't even realize it. :o)

Yes, there is a definite lack of letterboxes in the
central and western parts of PA. I'll be on the
lookout for your boxes!
